It seems (well, Basel 4054 anyway) UPC’s infrastructure is falling apart.
I lost internet a few times today, although a reboot of my Connect Box seemed to fix it. Could have just been short outages that coincidentally rectified themselves in the stupudly long time it takes this modem/router to reboot.
However, it’s totally down now, the Horizon box has no replay, my landline has died, and UPC’s status checker shows nothing. They never update that anyway, as far as I can tell, until after a problem has been fixed.
With my Connect Box off, attempting to connect to Wi Free from my neighbours’ boxes is also failing. Can’t authenticate. That means they’ve lost internet too.
Tethered to my mobile to post this. Some small satisfaction knowing that I’m burning through my unlimited (well,10GB) data on my UPC mobile 🙂
