It supports faster network speeds and also means you can turn off the electricity-guzzling Horizon box (or set it to the best power saving mode) when you’re not watchig TV..
The CB also has a better WiFi range.
I would say that unless you’re on the 500Mbit internet package, or have wifi range issues, the upgrade isn’t likely to mean mucn to you. I would hope that UPC are slowly realising that their Horizon box is a pos and are moving functions away from it 🙂. The CB will take over internet and landline functions, leaving the Horizon box for TV only..
Best thing to do … take a photo of your current socket and go to your closest UPC shop. They’ll give you whatever adapters you need. Both the Horizon box and the CB will need internet capable connections (the Horizon uses its own for replay stuff).
Finally, if you do get the CB, connect your Horizon box to it using an ethernet cable temporarily, then log in to the Horizon admin page and disable both WiFi radios. After that, you can unplug the ethernet cable as you’ll never need to connect to your Horizon box ove the LAN again.
