Fiber Cut in the Lake Zurich region

Unfortunately, our services in the Lake Zurich region are currently only available on a limited basis. There is currently a service interruption due to a severed fiber optic cable that was damaged by the work of a third-party company. The technicians are on site and are working to repair the damage. The work may well continue into the late evening hours. Until then, we ask for your patience and apologize for any inconvenience.

The following locations are affected:
8713 Uerikon, 8706 Meilen, 8712 Stäfa, 8942 Oberrieden, 8708 Männedorf, 8805 Richterswil, 8634 Hombrechtikon, 8703 Erlenbach ZH, 8820 Wädenswil, 8804 Au ZH, 8810 Horgen. More information about malfunctions and maintenance work can be found here.

 

Our technicians are on site and work on the repair of the damage. The work may well continue into the late evening hours. Until then, we ask for your patience and apologize for any inconvenience.

 

The entire cable with 288 fibers was burned during construction work and now needs to be replaced. Have you ever seen a Fiber Cut? This is what it looks like at the damage site:

I like the transparency of this post. I don't like the fact that the issue was recognized at 12:55, the fact that my personal service status continues to say everything is available in a nice shade of green and the fact that an SMS was only sent at 18:45.

 

To make matters worse, I can't find a helpline phone number to call on the website anymore.

Bei uns ist immer noch alles unterbrochen: tel, internet, tv. Keine Mitteilung durch UPC, offizieller Stand alles grün. Eine absolut miserable Kommunikationsleistung. Für das zerrissene Kabel können sie ja nichts, aber die Kommunikation wäre angebracht.

Bitte prüfe ob dein Modem noch Strom hat. Sind alle Kabel korrekt und fest eingesteckt? Falls ja, führe bitte einen Reset aus. Drücke dazu sanft mit einem spitzen Gegenstand den Reset Knopf auf der Rückseite für mindestens 25 Sekunden. Ist das Modem nach dem Restart auch nach 10 Minuten noch nicht online, kontaktiere bitte unseren technischen Support (0800 66 88 66) für eine vertiefte Analyse.
