Activation of replacement Connect

I received a new replacement Connect box today for my old Thompson one. Still no internet as apparently the Post delivered it and awaiting a signal from them to UPC to say I received it. What a joke, still no connection to the web - is this normal? UPC say they can do nothing about it... that can’t be true can it?
Any advise ir guidance please!
