I’ve noticed that a.new software ‘ulgrade’ has automatically taken place on Connect boxes.
Unfortunately, this has had the effect of breaking my WiFi network, which uses a Netgear WiFi extender. When I look at connected devices on the router management page, I now see that any device connecting via the Netgear extender inherits the same MAC address as the extender. This wasn’t the case before. Things like MAC level security therefore no longer work and I can’t even log into my Netgear EX7700 extender/Access Point.
Everything was fine before the Connect box upgrade. I have rebooted, reset, etc. but without success. My WiFi is now broken, as is MAC level control.
Can the Connect box firmware be downgraded? I’ve spent a lot of time trying to fix this, UPC, and I again find myself not in a Happy Home..
see below for example.
