I called support and they are sending me a "more powerful modem" however I strongly suspect looking at the regularity of the disconnect, that this is very unlikely to be a hardware issue, it smells like software misconfiguration does it not?

Anyway I am in 4334 Sisseln, just in case. Should I just wait for the new modem or maybe you seen this before?

Thank You

Laurent

Re : disconnect every hour

Most of the time a separated router works better for wifi than Horizon, i would suggest to wait for the router.

Re : disconnect every hour

Hi

in my understabnding this can not be a WiFi problem. At all time when the WAN is disconnected, the Wifi is still there I can still get through to 192.168.192.1 and refresh the box's sorry logs.

Thanks

Laurent

Re : disconnect every hour

So maybe better call the hotline and ask for check of your signal.

Re : disconnect every hour

Well I had done that already, a guy told me my signal looked weak, then I called again from home, a lady told me my signal looked strong. I definitely had cases where I was using bandwidth with no problem when it suddendly cut.

Re : disconnect every hour

scratch that: the Wifi does go down for a few seconds when the box goes through some kind of partial restart sequence, two of the front red LEDs light up, at this point the box is 100% unresponsive. Then it comes back up, but not without having killed all kind of sessions of course.

Looking for the log message I find post on the Dutch Cablecom site that report the same problem.

Re : disconnect every hour

Any news? I set you my details Adriana. Since then it has gotten worse, with periods where it disconnects every minute.

But mostly it is every hour, between 5 and 10 past... :robotindifferent: :catmad:

Re : disconnect every hour

Hello

So I got the separate modem, plugged it in as instructed by the support person I had to call because there was not information, I plugged it in the (a) of the scehma below:

  _______

 /                \

/    a      b    \

\           c     /

  \______/

This didnt work at all, the upstream signal is varying wildly between 20 and 55, which I read on the web is a very bad sign, and I see various error messages. I tried plugging it in (c), and it works, but then I cannot use my Horizon box, which was plugged in the (c) and as far as I understand can only be plugged in the (c).

Adriana, I had enough. It's not me, it's you!

So...

At what conditions would it be possible to cancel the Horizon subscription and only keep the Internet, also at a price that matches the actual download speed observed, ie about 20 ?

Cheers

Re : disconnect every hour

Hey @Xupolau

I've asked the experts from the support hotline to call you again and to fix it.

Edit: Please note that there is already a request for a technician who will come by and check the signal of your box. Your incident is pending.

Regards,

Adriana
