Hello swan46
What Modem do you have? Do you use Web Service of Apache? Did you Forward Port 80 in the forwarding rules of your Router?

Betreff: Can not reach my computer from outside

My modem is: UPC connect box wifi modem

Connected devices: TL-WR741N  Ethernet4  (my router) 192.168.0.220/24

Port forwarding: 192.168.0.220 port 80 Both protocols enabled

ping 198.48.40.25 hangs (this is my internet address)

192.168.1.100 displays the apache start page (Apache2 Ubuntu default page).

connection information shows, my ip address is 192.168.1.101

ping 192.168.1.101 pings well.

ping 192.168.1.100 shows: from 192.168.1.101 destination host unreachable

I also tried to connect my computer directly to the UPC modem, without the TP-link router.

In that case my ip address is 192.168.0.192, apache server works using 192.168.0.192

the upc modem's ip address is 192.168.0.1

port 80 is forwarded in the upc modem

my internet ip, 178.48.40.25 does not answer to ping, and (of course) also not as apache server.

Hello Swan
If you use a TP Link Router, please disable the Firewall of UPC, or set your TP Router in a DMZ.
So therefore you can try to:
1. disable Firewall of Connect box
2. Go to your TP Router and Forward the Port 80
3. If your Apache Server has the IP 192.168.1.100, then foward the port 80 to this IP
Now it does work. Better to have one Firewall instead of 2 :-)

You probably have DS-Lite with a public Ipv6 and a private Ipv4.

With this configuration it's impossible to connect to your LAN devices from outside.

You have to call UPC under 0800 66 88 66 and ask them to switch you back to Ipv4 only.

Then you should be able to put you ConnectBox into Modem-Mode. In that case your Tp-Link gets a public Ipv4 and you can use the portforwarding of theTP-Link to your Apache Server.

Firevall in UPC modem is disabled.

Port 80 is on TP-LINK router forwarded

Apache server's ip, 192.168.1.101 is forwarded to port 80.

A new information: I asked someone to ping my computer and also to reach my server.

He could ping my computer and also see my apache server's page.

Now-strangely I also can see my apache server's page using 178.48.40.25

The only problem remained is, that I can not ping myself.

My UPC modem itself can ping 178.48.40.25, but command line ping can not.

Please see the attached images.

Ok, all is correct an working as excepted. Only internal Ping is not working. Can you please check your TP Link FIrewall if you can find some Settings there?
