Offers for new customers

Hi,

 

Is a New Customer someone who picks a new product and signs a year-long contract (even if they already use UPC) or is it only for someone who doesn't currently have UPC?

 

I've been using UPC for many years and would like to change my Horizon box for the new UPC TV box.  You have some great deals on your website for new customers.  No activation fees, and reduced premiums for the first 6 months.

 

In order to get that, would I have to cancel all my UPC services, go to e.g. Swisscom for a while, then come back?

 

A related question ... are you likely to soon have any offers for existing customers?

Thanks! I did receive a missed call from a UPC number this morning and yesterday morning. I'm busy every morning in a course. Feel free to call this afternoon or any afternoon next week (I'm not free Thursday until Sunday).

I received a very friendly call.

 

For anyone reading this, it seems long-term UPC customers can often get a good deal when wanting to upgrade equipment.  I assume it's also in UPC's interest that they get another minimum 12 month contract signed and another Horizon box for the bin recycling :-)

Thank you, Adrian, this is very helpful.  @Daniele_UPC I'm in a similar position and have been searching how to access the offer for gigabit internet available to new customers and avoid canceling and re-subscribing.  I've been a long-standing customer for many years now.  Please can you help?

I found really frustrating that offers are only available to "adquire" new customers, but you have to be "hostile" in order to get a good deal.

haha - good timing!  My contract is up for renewal again. 

 

I'll probably fire off a message via twitter with what I'd like to get (like you, I want the new offer and am happy to upgrade to giga if no activation fee and would sign a 24 month contract to get it), but with Salt offering a package with even more UK channels and an Apple TV for Fr.49 (Fr.39 if I move my mobile from UPC to them too) there's some good competition out there.  They've confirmed new installations are still going ahead

 

However, everyone I've spoken to agrees UPC's service and support is miles better than Salt's.  Personal experience with UPC agrees with that - they've always been brilliant to me.  Recent  financial changes in my life may make my decision for me though.  We'll see.
