Does anyone know the difference between the Fast, Active and Eco start modes? What stays running and what shuts down in each mode, and roughly what the power consumption is?
On the Horizon box it was clear, especially as the thing took so long to boot up in Eco mode, but the UPC TV box comes on pretty fast (less than 10 seconds) from even Eco that I'm struggling to work it out. The box still takes a while to turn on from power-off so I'm led to believe even Eco mode isn't really shutting down much.
What prompted me to ask this? A new firmware update is rolling out today and I wanted to know if any of the modes allowed this to happen whilst the box was "off".
Thanks for that - I did a search and found nothing. Your search-fu is good
Not so important, but does anyone have more details? For example, why high usage only happens when using wifi, whereas medium usage happens in both and is roughly the same wattage?
Plus, what actually happens in Eco, Fast and Active standby? I'm too lazy to fully test, but what I know so far is that Eco drops the network connection and Fast doesn't.
When I have more free time, I'll do some research myself and post back here if I find anything interesting. So far, the "active" standby option causes my box problems, so more playing (err I mean testing) needed
